You can make waves with your support

One after another, Jo-Anne’s father, her sister and then her mother were diagnosed with dementia. Each of their stories remind us that dementia can impact anyone:

Through the years, Jo-Anne and her family have turned to Dementia Australia’s support services for comfort and advice.

“When I really needed to speak to somebody, an experienced counsellor was my lifeline.”

National Reconciliation Week

This National Reconciliation Week (27 May – 3 June), we’re reflecting on what it means to honour the past while walking boldly into the future.

This year’s theme, “Bridging Now to Next”, reminds us that reconciliation lives in the everyday actions we take and the stories we choose to share.

We invite you to meet Mel Armstrong, a Gomeroi woman and Dementia Australia advocate who shares a powerful and personal account of supporting her beloved Nan, Baagii, through dementia a journey filled with cultural responsibility, deep love, and heartbreaking beauty.
